Bug
Safari 3.2.1: Impossible to swich to the edit page in Wiki
Issue description
It is impossible to switch to the edit page in Safari 3.2.1 in the Wiki. The .login request is received on the server which sends back a 401. But then nothing happens. The view stays visible. If you deactivate challenging on the server it works to swich to editing. Then changes are saved with a challenge, so the challenging an Ajax request is not a problem.
This behavior was observed in Safari 3.2.1. The iPhone browser shows a similar behavior.
Developer comments
This problem is still there in Safari 4.0 (4530.17).
Some test with Safari 4 are very impressive. Everything works as expected. Sometimes the mountain does come to the prophet!

Summary |
I examined the reason for the failure and it turned out that it is similiar to the Safari issue with authentication via an XHR request. I replaced the XHR challenge by an iframe challenge and now everything works fine.
