Whenever we need to refer to a topic, the number of choices is high. For this reason Topincs uses us an *input field* which presents us *options in a drop down box* when we make a break from typing. We can then select one of the options, by clicking it or moving the cursor over it with the arrow keys and hitting enter. Hitting *Esc* will make the drop-down box disappear without making a selection.
Use *Shift-Enter* to make the options appear at any time.
If we are unsure, which option actually stands for the subject that we have in mind, we can pause the selection over the option and it will be previewed.
In the Topincs Wiki, the input completer accepts a _new topic_. If the name of the new topic overlaps with an existing topic, a drop-down box will appear. We must hit *Esc* to make it disappear _without_ a selection and to continue with creating the new topic. This applies for example, if a topic named "New York" exists already and we want to create a topic called "New York, New York".
