This takes care of a lot of places where the characters are interpreted as HTML. * I created a method CERNY.util.escapeHtml to use on text before i pass it to a vendor function where it gets inserted (e.g. the tree). * I used the function htmlsepecialchars in to take care of the problem in PHP.

Summary	Annoying hunt for the real cause. First, i suspected that the non-greedy matching does not work in IE. Once that was out of the ways i looked into Wiky.js which did not show any errors. At last i checked the string that was given to Wiky.js to convert and then it turned out that this string did not contain any line breaks which was the key finding. The fix itself was easy, but required patching Wiky.js since IE uses a single character (at 0Ax) to encode line endings.
